You are literally in a big chat room with all the other players, and they are making statements, asking questions, and in general making conversation. You have the opportunity to respond to all this. All of this interactivity is usually considered to be something healthy, and adds to the overall atmosphere. But there are some people who don't know how to behave, and they need to know some very simple rules about how to conduct themselves.

For example, using profanity is a no-no. That should go without saying. You also want to avoid being overly abusive or critical of other people, whether it is on a personal level or about their play. No one likes a bully. And that applies even to those participants who are looking for a "psychological edge."

If your objective is to go into one of these chat rooms in order to make some commercial "plug," for a product or service, and especially for purposes of trying to poach players from one location and lead them to another, you are committing a very serious violation of online gaming etiquette. And just as there is security in brick-and-mortar casinos, there is a very effective way to make sure you don't remain a nuisance. Your account will simply be purged, and you will not be allowed to participate again. Please don't push things to the point where the gaming establishment needs to make an example of you.
