Online Craps - This Must Be the "Place"

Folks who play craps, whether it is in a land-based environment or in the online casino, need to know the different kinds of bets. Of course, the most common are the Pass, Don't Pass, Come and Don't Come bets, but obviously there are others as well.

First you must know the Place numbers (4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10). It literally is as simple as this: if you that any of these numbers, you will win your wager if it is rolled before the seven is rolled. Of course, you keep in mind that the seven combination can be made in more ways than any other in a game of craps, so that is where the challenge to this particular wager exists. There is no pass line bet required when you make a Place bet, and the odds that this bet pays off at are not as high.

Let's go over them specifically. When you place a bet on the six or eight, you get paid at 7-to-6 odds. When you place it on the five or nine, You are paid at odds of 7-to-5, and when you place it on the floor or 10, you get paid at 9-to-5.

Aspiring online craps players should take note that the house odds against you are different for each one of these wagering possibilities. For example, on the six and eight, the odds against you of that being "made" or just 0.46%. The house edge against your bet being made when you place it on the five or nine is 1.11%. The worst house odds against you happen when you place your bet on the four or 10, in which case it is 1.67%.

Obviously the game of craps, like all casino games, involves an awful lot of math. It's just that craps, whether it is played online or in the brick and mortar casino, is a little more complicated to learn than most other games. Your best bet, if you pardon the pun, is to know the house percentages against you, and then what the smartest wagers for you to engage in will be.
